Abstract

This case report is about a 23-year-old female with hyperdivergent skeletal Class II malocclusion and right posterior
scissor bite. Orthodontic mini-implants and transpalatal arch were used to correct the scissor bite, and extraction of
four premolars were done for non-surgical treatment. By applying constant torque to the stiff stainless-steel wire on
retraction of the upper anterior teeth, the inclination of them was restored. Good occlusion and esthetic profile were
obtained by total arch intrusion mechanics of the upper dentition to correct the hyperdivergent pattern and gummy
smile.
